Whitefoord House lies within the boundaries of the designated Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage Site which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This designation was made in recognition of the outstanding architectural, cultural and historic importance of the area.
The project is an initial phase of work, part funded by Edinburgh World Heritage to enable the long term strategic aims of the charity on the site. This includes climate emergency adaptations to the historic fabric, carbon reduction studies and a wider development plan. We carried out fabric condition surveys from high level access platforms alongside web based site navigation tools and photogrammetry due to the complex accessibility restrictions of the site.
